Anal & Vaginal Steaming
In Eastern medicine, warmth and heat are commonly used in healing practices. When steaming, boiled water with an herb decoction is placed under the anus or vaginal canal and a light sheet (can be a bedsheet) is wrapped around the body making a tent to hold in the steam. Custom herb decoctions can be blended to target individual symptoms or can be as simple as lavender and chamomile for calming. For women, vaginal steaming can support many menstrual symptoms such as bloating, cramps, heavy bleeding and clots. It brings warmth promoting fertility all the way to healing after childbirth. It also is said to relax the pelvic floor muscles and promote blood circulation in the genital area. Anal steaming is a wonderful healing agent for hemorrhoids and can also tone tissue around the anal canal reducing anal tissue weakness.
